ATTENTION PARENTS, STAFF AND COMMUNITY!!!
HCS needs your help! This week is Safe Schools Week across Kentucky! Our friends at the Kentucky Center for School Safety are asking students, parents, staff and community members to pledge to keep our students safe.
HCS is currently ranked 6th in the state in the number of pledges received! You can help us move up the list and win the challenge!!!

Tomorrow, Tuesday, September 9th, is High Attendance Day in Hardin County! We’re aiming for 100% attendance, and we want to see every student show up in their favorite PAJAMAS to celebrate.
Homerooms that reach perfect attendance will earn a special surprise reward! Let’s make tomorrow a record-setting day—please be sure your child is here and on time.

Each month, we recognize two students from each grade level who demonstrate our core values. The Pack Leader of the Month is someone who lives out our school values of Family, Respect, and Success each day. For August, our Pack Leaders are:
6th Grade: Hana Chen and Naheim Parker
7th Grade: Teonna Smalls and Jason Smith
8th Grade: Summer Kellogg and Caidyn Pruett
Congratulations to all of our Pack Leaders!

We encourage our students to attend school every day, but especially on Tuesday, September 9, 2025! Bragging rights are on the line in our district-wide competition!!! Great attendance that day helps HCS as we compete with other districts in Kentucky.

We invite you to join us in taking the “Focus on School Safety” pledge. Together, we want to light up Hardin County with our commitment to safe schools. You can see district progress on the interactive map and charts linked below.

Free lunches are provided through a program called the Community Elgibility Provision (CEP). The continuation of CEP is dependendent on the number of school meals served. We encourage all students to participate in school lunch and school breakfast as much as possible!

WELCOME TO HARDIN COUNTY SCHOOLS!!
We are so glad that lots of new families are joining the HCS Family today through open enrollment. We encourag new families and families who have been with us for a while to elect to receive push notifications from your child(rens) school(s). Schools will use the app as part of the communication toolbox. Make today a great day!
We will have fun, food and lots of information from our community partners. Please note that these events are not school open houses. Those dates are posted here: https://www.hardin.kyschools.us/parents/2025-school-open-house-dates-times

Here is some important information regarding Open Enrollment:

* Click this link to learn what info will be needed at open enrollment: https://www.hardin.kyschools.us/parents/student-enrollment-information
* If you cannot come to the school to enroll your child on those two days, everything is OK!! Just call your school and schedule a time to enroll your child or drop by your school the next week!
