What is Girls on the Run?
Girls on the Run is a ten-week after school program that combines physical activity with inspiring, fun lessons that teach
girls how to handle the difficult social pressures of adolescence. Girls on the Run provides girls with the tools they need to become strong, confident, healthy young women who make good choices. The curriculum is taught by certified Girls on the Run coaches who are also Bluegrass Middle staff members! The team meets twice a week for 10 weeks in a small group setting.
This is not a running club or competitive program. This program is for non-athletes and athletes alike!

Fall sports are underway! We encourage all students, staff, and families to come out and support our football and girls' basketball teams throughout the season. BGMS students are admitted free to all home games. We hope to see you there!

Bluegrass Middle School is excited to announce its first-ever softball tryouts! This is your opportunity to be part of school history and help build our inaugural softball team.

Bluegrass Middle Open House is July 28th. 6th grade is 5:15- 6:15. 7th/8th grade is 6:30-7:30. We cannot wait to see all of our Bulldog Families!
Open enrollment will be hosted July 16 and 17th from 9 AM to 3 PM at Bluegrass Middle School.
Bluegrass Middle School Athletics will observe the KHSAA Dead Period from June 25–July 9. This mandatory break allows our student-athletes, coaches, and families time to rest, recharge, and enjoy summer!

Greetings, 8th grade families! As we near the end of the middle school journey, we want to keep you informed about upcoming events. During 6th period, students received information about Chromebook turn-in on Wednesday, May 13, and information about upcoming end of the year events. This information is also posted in the 8th grade Google Classroom and Rooms.
Additionally, permission slips for the Malibu Jack’s trip and ineligibility forms will be sent home Monday, May 11. The cost for the Malibu Jack’s trip is $15.00. Permission slips and money is due no later than Friday, May 15. This can be done either in-person or online.

The end of the school year is quickly approaching, and we have many exciting events planned! We are excited to invite our upcoming 6th graders and their families to 5th Grade Transition Night at BGMS Thursday, April 30, 2026. This event is designed to help students and parents learn more about the middle school experience and what to expect as students begin this important next step.
During the evening, you will have the opportunity to meet staff, learn about academic expectations, explore extracurricular opportunities, and ask any questions you may have. Our goal is to ensure that all students feel confident, prepared, and excited to start their journey at BGMS.

The Hardin County Schools Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council is collecting items to brighten the lives of local homebound residents and those in long-term care facilities.
A collection bin has been placed at each school in the district. Students, staff, families, parents and community members are encouraged to bring items that would help bring a smile to senior citizens. The collection drive will last from April 21 to May 5, 2026. Even kids from the strongest families don't report sextortion because of shame, fear of losing their phone, or not wanting to worry their parents.
One in five cases now involve AI-generated photos. Your child doesn't even have to send anything to become a victim.
Detective Mike Lemon, who has investigated these crimes for 16 years, shows parents that predators all use the same playbook: embarrassment, fear of arrest, and physical threats.
